I SUFFER NOT A WOMAN TO TEACH

Some Reasons for Allowing Women Priests/Ministers
I can understand why so many Christians think that it is ok for women to be priests or ministers in the Church. Among these reasons are:
1. The first person to see Jesus after the resurrection was a woman.
2. Jesus instructed Mary not to hold on to Him but she should go and tell the others about his resurrection.
3. In Christ there is no male or female, free or bond, Jew or Gentile, for all are equal.
4. When Jesus died, the curtain in the temple got torn and so all including women have direct access to God.
5. So many women have won souls for the Lord Jesus.
6. The Samaritan woman went to the city to tell everyone about Jesus.
7. The Holy Spirit was poured on both men and women on the day of Pentecost.
8. In Christ there is no male or female for all are one.

Unfortunately, none of these excuses above allows a woman to be a minister/pastor. God is not the author of confusion and the Bible does not contradict itself. Notwithstanding, from the above references, it is clear that the woman can witness to others.

What The Bible Says
Paul said emphatically concerning this subject, "this is a commandment of the Lord." Jesus stated "obey my command if you love me."

1. To the woman he said,
“I will make your pains in childbearing very severe;
with painful labor you will give birth to children.
Your desire will be for your husband,
and he will rule over you. (Genesis 3:16)

2. Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience, as also saith the law. And if they will learn any thing, let them ask their husbands at home: for it is a shame for women to speak in the church. What? came the word of God out from you? or came it unto you only? If any man think himself to be a prophet, or spiritual, let him acknowledge that the things that I write unto you are the commandments of the Lord. But if any man be ignorant, let him be ignorant. (1 Corinthians 14:34-38 KJV)

3. Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection. But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence. For Adam was first formed, then Eve. And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression. Notwithstanding she shall be saved in childbearing, if they continue in faith and charity and holiness with sobriety. (1 Timothy 2:11-15 KJV)

4. This is a true saying, if a man desire the office of a bishop, he desireth a good work. A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, vigilant, sober, of good behaviour, given to hospitality, apt to teach. (1 Timothy 3:1-2)

5. I believe that the scripture below also has a lesson for us.
Notwithstanding I have a few things against thee, because thou sufferest that woman Jezebel, which calleth herself a prophetess, to teach and to seduce my servants to commit fornication, and to eat things sacrificed unto idols. (Revelation 2:20)

Again
Some argue that women have to be priest in order for them to be saved. But the scripture says: she shall be saved in childbearing, if they continue in faith and charity and holiness with sobriety. (1 Timothy 2:11-15 KJV)

Peter said, 'knowing this first, that NO prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation. (2 Peter 1:20)
God forbid: yea, let God be true, but every man a liar. (Rom 3:4)
Paul said, "But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed." (Gal. 1:8)

"Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock." (Matthew 7:21-24)

"Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:
Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it." (Matthew 7:13-14)
