I will restore saith the Lord
Is it ok to baptise the way we want? Which is the right baptism? Should it be in water, sprinkling or waving a flag over the person? Should it be in the name of the Lord Jesus or in the name of the Father, Son and the Holy Ghost? Are they all the same? How was it done in the Bible? I believe since God is not the author of confusion, there must be a clear and definite way to baptise a believer. Water baptism is a basic requirement to a Christian's salvation. 'He that believeth AND is baptised shall be SAVED' Mark 16:16
WATER BAPTISM is a basic requirement to a Christian salvation.
Mark 16:16 - 'He that believeth and is baptized shall be SAVED; but he that believeth NOT shall be damned.'
1Peter 3:21- and this water symbolizes baptism that now saves you also—not the removal of dirt from the body but the pledge of a clear conscience toward God.It saves you by the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
Romans 6:3-4 Or don’t you know that all of us who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.
The Bible cannot contradict itself because it is the word of God. So how should it be done? Let us therefore take a closer look at this all-time controversial issue.
The word baptize originated from the Greek word baptizo which means to IMMERSE in water.
For the first 300 years from the death of Jesus Christ, baptism was always performed by by IMMERSION OF THE PERSON UNDER WATER.
Acts 8:38-39 And he gave orders to stop the chariot. Then both Philip and the eunuch went down into the water and Philip baptized him. When they came up out of the water...
John 3:23 Now John also was baptizing at Aenon near Salim, because there was plenty of water, and people were coming and being baptized.
Matthew 3:13-17 The Lord Jesus Christ, our perfect example in all things, was baptised in the Jordan River
It is therefore evident from these scriptures that Water baptism was originally performed by immersion of the person under water.
In Part 2, we will be looking the name(s) that must be used in baptism. Should it be done in the name of the FATHER, SON and HOLY SPIRIT or in the name of the LORD JESUS CHRIST.

Interstingly, this article has lots of flaws. Baptism does not mean immersion in water. It only means IMMERSION. This is the common mistake mainly made and so the revelation concerning baptism is not grasped. There is water baptism (immersion in water) and Holy Ghost baptism (immersion in the Holy Spirit). Its very important that when we come across the word baptism, we take our time to see which one of the baptisms is being referred to.
ReplyDeleteJohn the baptist declared that "I baptize (immerse) in water and He who comes after me will baptize in the Holy Ghost". So the question is, when Jesus said he who believes and is baptized shall be saved, was he referring to John's baptism (water baptism/immersion) or His own kind of baptism (Holy Ghost Baptism)? Water baptism was the outward sign (like circumcision) that one was a disciple of John, and John himself said Jesus' own sign will be the baptism of the Holy Spirit.
Also, in your article 1 Pet 3:21 was misquoted.
1Pe 3:21 The like figure whereunto even baptism doth also now save us (not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God,) by the resurrection of Jesus Christ:
1 Pet 3:21 simply put says, now the baptism which saves us is not the one that washes the filth of the body, but the one which is from the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
Thus, the baptism which now saves us is not that of water for it merely washes away the filth, but there is a baptism which cleanses our conscience and this baptism came by the resurrection of jesus Christ - the Holy Ghost baptism is that which saves us. Place the Holy Spirit baptism in Mark 16:16 and you will see how scripture is conforms - for John had long told us what baptism Jesus will be concerned with.
Now, with the correct definition of baptism as IMMERSION, look again at Rom 6:3-4 and you will see that baptized into Christ only means immersed into Christ (Chrios, the Anointing, the Spirit). It doesn't mean immersed into water into Christ, it only means immersed into Christ.
1 Cor 12:12-13 sums it all up by telling us that it is through the baptism of the Spirit that we become members of the body of Christ, i.e. it is only through the baptism of the Holy Spirit that we are saved. And this confirms mark 16:16-17.
I know you may have other questions because there is a lot of confusion created about this topic. I will send you a workbook and a manual. By the time you have gone through the workbook you would have a fair understanding, and then the manual will top it up for you. Stay blessed.
